Blueprint Broadband Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
Purpose and Applicability
Blueprint Broadband is committed to delivering high-quality, reliable residential Internet service. To support this goal and maintain the integrity and performance of our network, we have established this Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”). This policy applies to all residential customers and any individuals who use our services through a customer's account (“Users”).
The AUP is a binding part of our service agreement, and works in conjunction with Blueprint Broadband’s Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. By using our services, you agree to comply with this AUP and ensure that others using the service through your account do so as well. If you do not agree, you must immediately discontinue use.
Residential Use Only
Blueprint Broadband’s services are intended solely for personal use within a single residential household. Only the account holder and their authorized guests may use the service. Subscribers are responsible for securing their network and ensuring no illegal or inappropriate use occurs. Use of the service for business or commercial purposes is strictly prohibited unless the subscriber has an authorized business account.
Subscribers are fully responsible for any misuse of the service that occurs through their account, whether by a household member or any third party, authorized or not.
Monitoring and Network Management
Blueprint Broadband respects the open nature of the internet and typically does not monitor user activity unless required for security, legal compliance, or performance management.
To ensure consistent performance and reduce network congestion, we deploy industry-standard network management tools. These tools allow us to monitor, identify, and address issues such as network slowdowns or abnormal traffic. While we strive to avoid impacting customers, we reserve the right to temporarily slow or restrict traffic to maintain quality of service for all users.
Abusive or Disruptive Traffic
If a device on our network causes disruption or degrades performance, we may take action, including throttling or temporarily disconnecting service. We will attempt to notify the account holder and offer guidance or technician support. If the issue is not resolved, we reserve the right to terminate service.
Prohibited Uses
The following uses are strictly prohibited:
Illegal Activity: Hosting, transmitting, or storing unlawful content, including material that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes on intellectual property rights.
Threats or Harassment: Using the service to threaten, harass, or intimidate others.
Fraud: Engaging in scams, including pyramid or Ponzi schemes.
Impersonation or Forgery: Misrepresenting your identity or spoofing email or network traffic.
Malware and Harmful Software: Distributing viruses, worms, or any tools used for unauthorized access or attacks.
Spam: Sending unsolicited bulk emails or excessively large files that disrupt others' use of the internet.
Data Harvesting: Collecting personal data without consent.
Unauthorized Access: Hacking or attempting to bypass security of other networks, systems, or accounts.
Copyright Infringement: Sharing or storing copyrighted material without permission.
Resale or Unauthorized Sharing: Selling or sharing the service outside the residence where it was installed.
Network Disruption: Activities that degrade network performance or disrupt service for others.
Running Servers: Operating servers of any kind without express written permission.
Usage Restrictions
Online Backups: Continuous cloud backup services must be scheduled between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. to prevent network strain.
Peer-to-Peer Applications: Excessive use of P2P apps may result in service throttling or restriction if it disrupts network performance or violates copyright laws.
Excessive Usage: While we do not impose data caps, users with data consumption far beyond typical residential use may be subject to additional charges, warnings, or termination.
Copyright Infringement and DMCA
Blueprint Broadband complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If we receive a valid copyright complaint, we will notify the Subscriber and take appropriate steps, which may include suspending or terminating service for repeat offenders.
Reporting AUP Violations
To report suspected AUP violations, please contact us via our website at blueprintbroadband.com, including any supporting evidence such as IP addresses, timestamps, or logs.
Remedial Actions
Blueprint Broadband may take one or more of the following actions in response to AUP violations:
Issue warnings (written or verbal)
Suspend or terminate services
Charge administrative or reactivation fees
Seek legal or equitable remedies
Cooperate with law enforcement or other ISPs as necessary
We prefer to work with subscribers to resolve issues voluntarily but reserve the right to take action without notice when required. Termination does not release the subscriber from financial responsibility for charges up to the termination date.
Policy Updates
Blueprint Broadband may update this AUP at any time. The current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services implies acceptance of the latest version.
Conflicts with Other Agreements
In the event of a conflict between this AUP and your specific service or billing agreement, the terms of the service or billing agreement will prevail.
